David is an American lawyer and trade consultant with more than 20 years experience in international trade, commerce and policy gained through work in private law firms, government, multilateral organizations, as well as through many years as an independent consultant.
He is a respected authority on international trade policy, in particular anti-dumping and countervailing duties and has worked extensively in many parts of the world, including Africa, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, North and Central America, Europe, the former Soviet Union and China. He has represented and advised clients on all aspects of trade, law and policy, specializing in customs, regional integration, food security and trade remedies.
Mr Tanenbaum has recently advised the governments of Ukraine and Maldives on legal and regulatory reforms, and Seychelles, Ethiopia and Azerbaijan on legislation required to ensure harmonization upon accession to the WTO. Other recent assignments have included work in Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Nigeria, Ghana, Syria, Tunisia, Fiji, Rwanda and Nepal. David has also developed and delivered training on trade policy and customs matters to participants from more than 30 countries.

For last 10 years, Karki has been providing technical and advisory services, all related to private sector development, inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction to diverse stakeholders, those including the government, non-government and international organizations. Earlier, he worked over 5 years in management positions at multinational firms.
